Your first visit
New here? Here’s how it goes
You don’t need to know the terms or bring a plan. Sit down and tell us what’s bugging you about your hair.

What to expect
1
Arrive
Come five minutes early. Grab a coffee, and we’ll take your coat.
2
Talk
Your barber looks at how your hair grows and asks what you do and don’t like.
3
Cut
Wash, cut, neck shave and finish. Say if anything’s not right as we go.
4
Check
We show you the back with a mirror, then explain how to style it at home.
Know your grade
What the numbers mean
Each clipper guard leaves hair a set length, so “a two on the sides” means the same in any barbershop. Not sure? Show us a photo.
1
3mm
Very close, scalp shows through
2
6mm
Short, tidy and low effort
3
10mm
The usual back and sides
4
13mm
Covers the scalp, still short
5
16mm
A soft, even length
6
19mm
Starts to show texture
7
22mm
Longer all over
8
25mm
The longest clipper guard
Talking to your barber
How to ask for what you want
Bring a photo
Two or three pictures say more than any description. Pick people with hair like yours.
Know your numbers
If a grade worked last time, tell us. If you don’t know it, describe the length with your fingers.
Be honest about mornings
Tell us how long you’ll really spend on your hair, and we’ll cut for that.
Good to know
Before you come in
Do I need to wash my hair first?
No. We wash it before every cut except a Clipper Cut.
What if I don’t like it?
Tell us before you leave, or within seven days, and we’ll put it right free of charge.
What if I’m running late?
Call us. Up to ten minutes we can usually still fit you in. After that we may need to shorten your service or move your slot.
