Who we are
gentslook is a barbershop and men’s grooming parlour at 27 Cutler Row, London E8 4QX. We are the controller of your personal data under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. This policy explains what we collect through this website, including online booking, and in the shop, and how we use it.
What we collect online
When you book online, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the service, barber and time you chose, and anything you write in the booking notes.
In the shop
Before a facial, colour or skin treatment, we ask about allergies and skin conditions and record your patch test. This is health information, so we only collect it with your consent, keep it securely and use it only to treat you safely.
Why we use it
We use your information to take and manage your bookings, which is necessary for our contract with you, and to send reminders and answer your questions, which is in our legitimate interests. We only send marketing emails if you’ve asked us to, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Photos
We only use photos of you for our gallery and social media with your permission. You can withdraw it at any time, and we’ll remove them.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. It’s stored on our website and with the service providers who help us run the shop, such as our web host, email delivery and card payments, only as far as needed to provide our services.
Cookies
This site uses only the cookies it needs to work, such as remembering your booking session. If we add analytics or embedded content from other sites, we’ll update this page and ask for your consent where needed.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and payment records for six years for tax purposes, treatment records for as long as you remain a client and for up to three years afterwards, and photos until you ask us to remove them.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please tell us first; you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
